I held my own judging contest at The Michigan State Fair for the cutest cupcakes and these were the winners!

UK Postcards in Royal Oak

Over the weekend, I visited Royal Oak with a girlfriend. She had never been there before. We had lunch at Comet Burger, stopped at Astoria Bakery for baklava, and then went to Noir Leather. In the store, she headed to the back and I stopped in the front part because they had a box of old postcards for .96 cents a piece, where I found these lovely postcards of Kew Gardens and Piccadilly Circus, two of my favorite places in London. I had no more than picked them out when my girlfriend came hurrying out of the back saying her "horizons had been more than broadened" and she wanted to leave right then. I never even got to explore the other rooms yet! At least, I got to buy my postcards.

Penguins

In my quest to try all the British food that I can (as long as it's vegetarian), I tracked down the elusive Penguins. I heard about them on The Royle Family and in Russell Brand's new book, so I was very pleased to find them at Hiller's Market today for 59 cents each. They are a chocolate biscuit by Mcvities. I haven't tried eating them yet. The wrapper is too cute!

St. Patrick's Day Mannequins

Over the weekend, I met a friend for lunch in Ypsilanti at a restaurant called Beezy's Cafe.They had some really good vegetarian options like a veggie sandwich with avocado and lemon broccoli soup. Down the street, I spotted some mannequins decked out in green for St. Patrick's Day in the windows for Deja Vu Strip Club, so I had to take some pics. There was a lot of reflection and glare, but I think they turned out pretty cool looking.

Here is a mosaic of some of the cupcake pictures I have taken. I've got 54 cupcake photos in my flickr cupcake photo set, and I'm pretty sure I've eaten most of those cupcakes. That is a lot of cupcakes!
